I feel that besides the impact that my supreme roast potatoes have on the senses of the few lucky enough to experience them, the other way I can make an impact on the world is by helping to amplify the impact that other people already have. Impactception. This is what's actually cool about video. When you look past all the technical and creative nonsense that us in the video/film world froth over, the core of what we're really doing is building a tool that can be just as powerful to your mind as being there in person, and while nice pictures are cool, I think the former is cooler. (If you want to dive deeper on this subject just Google "narrative transportation" - it doesn't just apply to fictional stories either)
Anyway I spent the day with Brad Dixon aka @everfitcoach making content that's going to help a lot of people make small improvements that will add up to massive results. I also just started reading Atomic Habits so the timing is quite a coincidence. I'm writing this while sitting cross legged straight backed on the floor like we used to do back in Room 16 at Owhata Primary . That's my new rule for when I need to use my smartphone for more than a brief moment, and my back muscles are getting mad about how long this post is taking to write.
When ‘I’ is replaced by ‘we’, ‘illness’ becomes ‘wellness’. Let’s come together on Friday, 11th October, 10am-6pm for a project dedicated to helping your mental health. Let’s start to take care of our mental health the same way we take care of our physical bodies!

☑️ CREATE AND MAINTAIN BOUNDARIES: Creating boundaries isn't selfish. Our first instinct after finding out about our Narcissistic parents is to confront them about what they are doing to us and the damage it has caused. We want to be SEEN AND HEARD AND SCREAM ABOUT THEIR HURTUNG BEHAVIOR.
But this never helps! They can and will never understand our feelings. That's why it's really important to create boundaries with the Narcissistic parent.
ℹ️Now that you know about their behavior pattern, their guilt tripping techniques and their games you can do better by just moving out and away from their space.
YOU CAN BEGIN FROM HERE:
✖️ LIMITED OR NO CONTACT
✖️ STOP PARTICIPATING IN THEIR GAMES ✖️ STOP SHARING THE INFORMATION THAT MAY BE USED AGAINST YOU
✖️ NO LONGER FEEDING THEIR EGO
✖️ NO LONGER EXPECTING TO BE SEEN, HEARD AND VALUED
✖️ WHEN YOU SEE A BEHAVIOR PATTERN BEING REPEATED, CHANGE YOUR RESPONSE AND REACTION.
VALUE YOUR INTUITION . AND TRUST IT. WHEN YOU FEEL SOMETHING IS WRONG, ACCEPT IT AND DON'T GO INTO DENIAL .
These are some of the ways to begin with initially. I will be sharing more about boundaries because it's a very important and complicated topic. And I want to share how I learnt to create and maintain healthy boundaries with my Narcissistic mother. .
💪It's very difficult in the beginning because of all the guilt and shame that comes along with creating boundaries. Because your boundaries were never respected and we're always pushed by your Narcissistic parent to get what they want out of you. They will still do that when you will enforce them . You might feel like giving up or just softening a Little because all that you have ever done is ENDURED THE PAIN. SO IT'S GONNA BE DIFFICULT TO STAND UP FOR YOURSELF IN THE BEGINNING AFTER ALL THE ABUSE AND HURT. BUT IT'S GONNA BE WORTH IT. I PROMISE YOU!❤️
COLOURFUL FOOD IS KEY!
It's so important to eat a variety of foods in a variety of colours because different coloured vegetables and fruits are high in different vitamins and minerals! .
🧡💛ORANGE/YELLOW FRUIT & VEG:
Carotenoids give this group their colour. Betacaroteine, a well-known carotenoid, is converted into Vitamin A during digestion. Vitamin A supports healthy mucous membranes and healthy eyes!
💚GREEN FRUIT AND VEG:
These contain a range of petrochemicals including carotenoids, indoles and saponins. These all contain anti-cancer properties! .
❤RED FRUIT & VEG:
They contain a plant pigment called proper which gives you the vibrant colour! Lycopene is a powerful antioxidant that can help reduce the risk of cancer, stroke and heart disease.
💜💙 BLUE/PURPLE FRUIT & VEG:
Anthocyanin gives the colour, this is a powerful antioxidant that protects cells from damage and helps reduce the risk of cancer, stroke and heart disease. ⚪WHITE FRUIT & VEG:
Phytochemicals known as Allicin contain antibacterial and antiviral properties! These are found in high amount in garlic! They also tend to be high in potassium, such as bananas and potatoes.
