Had to do a day trip to a Flag today, which is never my fave (5hr in the car). BUT, I am very pleased to announce that @realmrcoolpup is officially off his bed rest and allowed to come hike with me again! 😍🐶👏🏻 Both Nugget and I were very annoyed the last few weeks with our hiking limitations, but thankfully he’s feeling better again!
Nugget has some dysplasia on his right hip: it gets exacerbated from sprinting and jumping. As a result of partying too hard, he had been limping for a few weeks and the vet also said his knees were very inflamed from trying to favor the painful hip (which long term ends in a blown doggy acl in most dogs). So, while he has a lot to be careful about @sarahideko and I are very happy to have him back as a mandatory sidekick for hikes and weekends!
Woody was found in the trailer of a woodchipper. She is an absolute lovebug and needs a forever home. Exhibit A, the belly scritches. Note the extended peets and toe beans indicating many muffins are being made.
TO VACCINATE OR NOT TO VACCINATE?
Not every dog or cat will need their vaccination when it’s due. You can avoid over-vaccinating your pet and giving them an unnecessary vaccination, there is a choice.
Holistic Health Vet offers a titre testing option which will help determine if your pet’s immunity is adequate enough to protect them against these diseases without the need for another vaccine. All it takes is a small blood sample and 10mins. 🐾
So if your pet has had previous vaccine reactions, has a chronic disease or illness or you are concerned about the effects vaccination may have on your pets health, give us a call 0730672456 or contact us through the website or socials. Ese fue el día de mi primera cita al ''pediatra''. La realidad de la última foto es que me quedé atorada bajo el sofá, por dramatica jsjsjs

Cleaning up my home office before a trip, I came across this Richmond, Virginia MEPS photo. For all you civilians, MEPS is a acronym for Military Entrance Processing Station. It was the day I joined the Army in 1992. I was eighteen.
Reflecting on when I took the oath to "... defend the U.S Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic" I remember being so sure I knew what that would entail.
I was wrong.
3 out of 3 videos. Here is my official statement regarding my recent job change. Thank you again for your continued support.
Birds are the most abundant type of wildlife to find injured. Here are recent examples to learn from if you end up in the situation of trying to save one:
Photo 1 is the dead bodies of two Pine Siskins, brought in from a woman's bird feeders. This species is prone to Salmonella (of which they died from symptoms of overnight) - understandably, most do not know this. She brought them in her bare hands which 1. is not considerate for the birds - they could've died from the stress alone, and 2. is not smart when handling any wild animal. Salmonella is a zoonotic disease, meaning she could've easily gotten it through contact. I realize time is of the essence when an animal is injured, but for you and the wildlife, it's never a bad idea to be properly prepared first. Gloves and a dark box would've done the job.
Photo 2 the x-ray of a crow with a severe radius/ulna fracture. The finder did not want to relinquish the bird (which is illegal), and called to get advice because the bird "looked fine" and they didn't want us to "euthanize for no reason." It's understandable - none of us want the animal to die. But this type of fracture will heal into nothing but frustration and lifelong pain for the bird. The bones are completely shattered (dangerously close to the joint) and would never calcify in a way that would facilitate extension or mobility. If it weren't for humane euthanasia, this non-habituated adult crow would have to live in care for the rest of its life (which could easily reach 30yrs in captivity) under unnecessary stress and in pain. Always assume there is more going on than you can see - even we had to use radiographs because there was too much soft-tissue swelling at palpation.
Photo 3 is my wrist after a Barn Owl -accidentally- caught me with its talon. Imagine if it was intentional and I didn't have proper handling skills. Never handle an animal without a barrier to subdue them (i.e. a towel works wonders). It lessens stress for them and provides more time for you to position them for your safety.
Deja de encogerte para caber en lugares que ya te quedan chicos 🌚
