Existe dimorfismo sexual en esta especie, incluso desde que empiezan a salirles las plumas, en el nido. Bo długo jedzono ze wspólnej miski. Własny talerz był luksusem. ⠀⠀ Najpierw pojawił się u klas szczodrze obdarzonych przez los. Gdzieś od XVI wieku. ⠀⠀ A i nawet z niego jedzono palcami, co tam będę przebierać w słowach: gołymi łapami. Nie tak, jak dzisiaj w cywilizowany sposób, z nierozumianą kiedyś klasą i elegancją - czyli widelcem. ⠀⠀ Widelec, bo to egzotyczne, wręcz groteskowe, karykaturalne w pojęciu niektórych narzędzie, nie miało łatwych początków. ⠀⠀ We Franji widelec budził nienajlepsze skojarzenia. ⠀⠀ To "narzędzie" używane na dworze Henryka III (naszego Henryka Walezego, pierwszego elekcyjnego króla Polski w latach 1573–1574, a od 1574 króla Francji, niekoniecznie chlubnie wspominanego w naszej historii, jako ten, który w przebraniu, po kryjomu, opuścił polski tron, by objąć ten bliższy sercu francuski). ⠀⠀ Istnieje sporo watpliwości i przesłanek na temat jego homoseksualności. ⠀⠀ Chodziły słuchy, które w owej epoce były tabu, że Henryk III miał słabość do płci brzydkiej, że dlatego nie mógł spłodzić potomka... ⠀⠀ No a skoro widelec zadebiutował w świcie Henryka III, wśród jego faworytów, tzw mignons, jakąkolwiek by pełnili oni względem króla Francji funkcję, a którym ten niewątpliwie okazywał szczególne względy, co bez watpienia gorszyło współczesnych i było tematem niewybrednych plotek. ⠀⠀ Widelec wprowadzony w aurze, czy aureoli skandalu z trudnością przebijał się na stoły. ⠀⠀ Co na pewno powstrzymywało niektórych od publicznego się nim posługiwania.
