So like, I had all of these things and just kept telling myself it was from my physical job. I told myself it was just the stress from running a business and I’d get over it one day
This small divine voice always was whispering in my ear that I had anxiety and depression but being the stubborn lady I am I just told myself “stay positive”, “flip the switch”, “correct negative thinking patterns with positive ones”.
I want you to know that thinking positively helped me battle anxiety and depression when I was at my lowest. Now, that doesn’t mean positive won every time, it didn’t. What I’m trying to tell you is that the power of positive thinking can and will change your life and if you’re struggling, ask for help. I had to because eventually my mental health issues became to severe that positive thinking was being overwhelmed by the negative
ITS OKAY TO ASK FOR HELP
For 4 years I struggled to ask for the help I so desperately needed because I was determined to beat this thing on my own. At the end of the day, I can’t. I have a disease that I tried to correct by abusing substances in hopes that I could self regulate and self medicate in order to gain a feeling of peace. .
Although we have so much awareness on how mental health issues are normal, I still felt embarrassed and ashamed. How can I be the face of a health and wellness business and not be “well”.
Here’s the thing, I am well, in every way because I choose to ask for help, I choose to hand myself over to the hands of something greater then me to help control my addiction, anxiety, depression and eating disorder. .
I want you to know I’m here for you if your struggling. That you’re never ever alone. Talk about it because the more you talk about what you’re struggling with this growth. The people who care will listen and understand and the ones who don’t are the ones you need to remove from your life.
I want you to know you got this. Fucking hell yeah you got this! So punch your issues right in the god damn face and start living baby!
